I got into the SHU very easilyJul 23 2004English
I got into the SHU very easily. It is not the most selective school, which creates a good diversity among students. Joining many clubs in high school, showing a good amount of service (at least one thing), and making sure your academics are up to par are the only things I can recommend. The school is trying to increase its reputation and status, and hopes to be ivy league in the near future. As far as that goes, the admission policies may become a little stricter, but go for it. Be honest about who you are, the interview is easy because the staff is very warm and welcoming.

Just talk about how good you are at sportsMar 08 2004Political Science
Just talk about how good you are at sports. In fact, I wasn't even very good at all but I was on a few teams in high school and all through my interview the women was asking me if I would be on a team at SHU. If you're not into sports or being an arrogant frat guy or soriety girl then don't waste you're time coming.
Honestly though - they did respect how hard I worked in HS with a great scholarship - but sports and sport related majors are #1 in SHU's book.

I applied and wrote an essayJan 29 2004Computer Science
I applied and wrote an essay. Got decent financial aid. I was offered full tuition to Marywood University but I turned it down to go here because I love the atmosphere so much. Apply ASAP because you will get more fin aid - i applied kinda late to all the colleges because I have a procrastination problem. If you get accepted and decide to go - get your deposit in ASAP or you'll get stuck in a triple, which happened to me and it totally sucks.
